I'm obsessed with this album right now and this is my favourite track on there. I love both Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward and the ultra retro country/doo wop feel this has!

   Love Cat Power, and the soulful vibe of this album is amazing. A brave song too...
3. Season Of The Witch - Donovan
   When i was a teenage hippy i loved Donovan and now when i listen, i get that great nostalgic gooeyness and floods of teen angst feelings. This song is so sexy...
4. Happiness - Goldfrapp
   This song gives me good feelings and i love the direction of the new album. Her voice is like a breathy wash of friendliness. Great video too...
5. Come Together - The Beatles
   I listen to Beatles cd's in the car and this one makes for a particularly groovy ride. It's my favourite Beatles song for sure. So goddamn cooool.
6. Nobody's Baby - Sharon Jones And the Dap Kings
   It's less about the song and more about the sound and mood of the whole record. It makes you wanna say things like "now we're cookin with gas sister."
7. Golden Brown - The Stranglers
   I know it's about heroin, but to me it's more like a Baroque love song. I love the hoppy-waltz-pulse it gets going. It totally stands the test of time too...
8. Vincent O'Brien - M. Ward
   I've always adored this song, but lately i've listened to it a lot because i recorded a cover of it and we perform it in the live show. I heard that M. Ward liked my version, so i feel extremely honored.
9. The Needle & The Damage Done - Neil Young
   His voice is exquisite and this is a beautifully crafted song.
10. What The World Needs Now - Burt Bacharach
    This song inspires me a lot. Such a sweet sentiment and i love the production choices.
11. Heartbeats - The Knife
    This song always pumps me up and makes me feel all summery. They make great dance music.
12. Master And Everyone - Bonnie Prince Billy
    His voice is so human and intimate, makes me feel like i'm being cradled.
13. Saturday Sun - Nick Drake
    I adore Nick Drake and this song just makes me crumble. The instrumentation is very inspiring to me...
